Russian resources

Websites:
Smeshariki - Смешарики: www.smeshariki.ru
A fun cartoon for 3-7-year-olds (or so) and an associated website with games etc.

http://tirnet.ru/ - a music radio, a stories radio, as well as cartoons and games

http://www.youtube.com/user/mosfilm - access to classic Soviet cinema on Youtube. Many of these films are fine for slightly older kids to watch. My two love the 'Песня про зайцев' from 'Бриллиантовая рука'.

http://chudesenka.ru/ - this is a good source of children's songs in Russian and also has links to Russian cartoons to watch online.

http://www.igraemsa.ru/igry-dlja-detej - fun games for kids and a slightly easier interface than other Russian kids' websites

Books:
My children love the Pettson and Findus books by Sven Nordqvist (http://www.labirint.ru/series/18657/). Although these aren't by a Russian author, they discovered the books in Russian translation and these remain firm favourites.

A good source of books if in London and not able to get to Russia is Waterstones' Russian bookshop on Piccadilly: http://www.waterstones.com/waterstonesweb/pages/russian-bookshop/2390/. This has a good choice of both children's and adults' Russian books and it also organises events from time to time.

Apps:
Dragonfly and Bee both enjoy the iPad app Wordeaters which involves dragging words into the right head: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/wordeaters/id490622258?mt=8.
